Description

So, this is what I'm working on. XD
It's for a competition "Hearts of Love" by the creator of Heart Wildfire.

The characters belong to them, Sanya and Tairo. I just came up with the idea. LOL XD

For the :iconimprovement-club:

I can't get the guy's pose right. Actually, they both look weird. The girl has a broken spine I'm pretty sure. XD Anyhow, a redline for their poses would be much appreciated.
The guy has his right arm around her waist. I don't know if that would be physically possible the way I drew him.
Feel free to critique the faces as well. I need to go back and redo the guy's hair..it's too poofy.

Thanks.

Hiya ^^ Someone will probably get you a nice redline or such soon, so I'll just leave a few quick observations mostly. First, I actually think the poses aren't too bad. It's cute! The girl's pose like possible to me, it's not entirely natural but with the combination of the boy hugging her I think it's pretty normal looking. For the boy, I think it's a cute pose. One issue I think you have is his shoulders are a bit too wide. His build doesn't look particularly stronger/different than the girl's but he has much more distance between his head and the tips of his shoulders. I'd probably pull in the shoulder a bit. I do think there is probably something off with his legs in relation to hers but it'd be a lot easier to see if redlined I think (did you actually map out/sketch his body and hers together? Or did you kinda just add him?)

I actually quite like your face design, although the hair is as you said a bit too poofy on both. One unfortunate issue is that for both characters their fingers are just a bit short and stubby, and sort of lack the indication of the bones associated inside. They kinda like more like poles as opposed to have 3 segments. One thing I'd encourage to make things more interesting is to use a bit more variation in your line weight. Basically how thick your lines are. Things like outlines should generally be a bit thicker to emphasize them while fold lines should be a bit thinner so they don't draw as much attention to themselves. You'd also want to emphasize/thicken objects that are closer to the viewer. When everything is the same thickness it can make a picture look a bit flat.
